What data I handle

Whatever you send me by WhatsApp or email: your name, your phone number or email address, your business name and what you tell me about your project. If we end up working together, also the details needed for the quote, the contract and the invoice.

Why, and on what legal basis

• Answering your question and preparing a quote: because you ask for it before entering a contract (GDPR article 6.1.b).
• Doing the project and managing our work together: because it is needed to perform the contract (GDPR article 6.1.b).
• Invoicing and meeting my tax obligations: because the law requires it (GDPR article 6.1.c).

I don't use your data to send you advertising, and I make no automated decisions about you.

How long I keep it

If we don't end up working together, I delete the conversation at most one year after our last contact. If you become a client, I keep your data for as long as we work together and then for the periods that Spanish tax and commercial law require.

Who else sees it

I don't sell or pass your data to anyone, except where the law requires it. To run my business I use these providers, which process data on my behalf:

• WhatsApp (Meta), if you write to me there.
• Namecheap Private Email, which hosts my email.
• Vercel, which hosts this website and logs technical data about each visit, such as the IP address, for security.
• Plausible Analytics, for visitor statistics (see below).

Some of them are outside the European Economic Area, in the United States. In those cases the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Statistics and cookies

To know how many people visit the site I use Plausible Analytics. It uses no cookies, does not store your IP address and cannot identify you: it only counts visits in aggregate.

The site stores only two things in your browser, and only if you choose them: your language, in a cookie called “locale” that lasts a year, and light or dark mode. Both are technical preferences, so they don't need your consent. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask me to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to its processing or receive it in a format you can take elsewhere. Write to hola@jeanayala.xyz and I will reply within one month at most.

If you think I have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
