An online shop in the Canary Islands, with IGIC and inter-island shipping done right
- Shop
- Payments
- Shipping
Sell from your own website instead of from somebody else's shop window. I build it to order, with tax and shipping set up for selling from the islands rather than from Madrid, and hand it over scoring 99+ on all four Lighthouse tests. From €490 excl. IGIC, with a fixed quote before anything starts.
What your shop includes
What comes with every shop I hand over. Anything not listed here we talk through, and it goes in writing in the quote.
- 01
A catalogue you edit yourself
from €490Products, photos and prices from a simple editor. You don't have to call me to change a price.
- 02
Card payments
The money goes straight to your account through a payment gateway. We pick the one that best fits what you sell and how much of it you sell.
- 03
Canary Islands tax
IGIC instead of VAT, set up from day one. A lot of shop templates ship with 21% VAT and someone has to remember to change it; here it's the first thing that gets done.
- 04
Shipping by island
Rates that tell your own island, the rest of the Canaries and mainland Spain apart, instead of a flat rate that loses you money on every order to another island.
- 05
Fast on mobile, and in two languages if you need it
Almost all your customers will buy from their phone, so the shop is built to load fast there first. If you also sell to tourists or outside Spain, it comes in Spanish and English.
A shop built for mainland Spain charges the wrong tax in the Canaries and loses money on every shipment to another island.
What people usually ask me about shops
The questions that come up before we start.
- What does an online shop cost?
It starts at €490 excl. IGIC. What moves the price is how many products it has, whether you need it in two languages, and whether it has to connect to something you already use. If you want to see how that compares with what others charge on the island, I break it down in what a website actually costs in Gran Canaria.
You get a fixed quote before anything starts: I don't bill by the hour and there are no extras halfway through.
- How long until it's selling?
Between one and five weeks, depending on size. What holds a shop up is almost never the build: it's the photos and the product descriptions. If your catalogue is already prepared, it's quicker.
- Can I sell to mainland Spain?
Yes, and the shop accounts for it from the start. But selling from the Canaries to the mainland comes with paperwork that selling within the islands doesn't, and that's for your accountant to handle, not your website.
Before you set prices, ask your accountant and your courier what each shipment costs you. With those numbers I set the shop up so you don't lose money on any of them.
- Will I be able to manage it myself?
Yes. You add products, change prices and upload photos yourself from a simple editor, and I show you how to use it when we hand it over. The domain, hosting and logins are in your name: the shop is yours.
- Are you really in the Canary Islands?
Yes, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and I work with businesses on every island. We can meet in person in Las Palmas or by video call. The invoice carries IGIC, not VAT.
What do you sell?
Tell me what you sell and where you ship it, and I'll send you a fixed quote. No commitment, and if it's not a job for me, I'll say so.
